Week one of my diet did not go well, with me adding a pound and all. I posted about a couple of new rules I have set for myself here.
But, I started thinking about why my diet didn’t work. Last week I set several goals for myself- exercise everyday, drink lotsa water, don’t eat anything I like, lose 28 pounds, you know- fun stuff like that. And I did good for the first two days. And then I got tired and overwhelmed. I think I expected too much all at once.
So, here’s the new plan. I haven’t exercised since August- so expecting myself to walk 2 miles everyday right off the bat is too much. So for this week my goal is to walk on my treadmill 3 times.
Next- I am going to start out with two water bottles at the beginning of the day and drink all of that water. It will only equal 4 glasses of water but for now that is better than what I have been drinking.
Also- instead of focusing on losing 28 pounds I am going to create mini goals for myself. Right now my first goal is to lose 10 pounds by April 11th. That is a healthy 2 pounds per week of weight loss. And once I reach that goal I am taking myself to get my hair cut. It’s been almost a year (very bad, I know) and my hair desperately needs some stylin’.
So, it’s a new week with some new goals. I can do it!
