I’m Joining Fitness on Fridays

During the Ultimate Blog Party I met Natalie from Bye Bye Fat Mom.  She has a blog where she talks about trying to lose weight.  There were several of us who visited her who were interested in starting a little support group for each other to help keep each other accountable and motivated on our paths to being thin.  So, Natalie is starting Fitness on Fridays.  Each Friday we will blog about our progress (or failures).  I’m so excited and think this will definitely help me with my weight loss.

Natalie had this fabulous idea that I am stealing.  She needed a way to motivate herself to exercise and she came up with a great plan.  So- here is the plan- everyday I exercise I will get 50 cents.  Once I reach $50.00 I get to use that money to buy myself whatever I want.  Here’s the catch- everyday I don’t exercise I have to pay back $1.  I am going to give myself one day off each week.  Isn’t that a fantastic idea that Natalie came up with? 

I just started and I actually walked on the treadmill today.  I’m going to add a little thingee on the sidebar to keep track of how much money I’ve earned so far by exercising.

So, I weighed myself this morning.  And my results?  After a week without all of my usual snacking?  I lost a big old ZERO.  I am so frustrated.  I guess it’s time to start exercising.

How’s It Going?

My diet seemed to go okay for the first week.  I did a lot better with my snacking, I have cut it down a lot.  I drank more water too, but not nearly enough.  And I didn’t exercise at all.  So, tomorrow will be my first weight in day and then I’ll really know how the first week went.

I Knew I Shouldn’t Have…

….weighed myself yet.  But, this morning I was thinking that I must have certainly lost some weight by now.  So, I checked.  I had only lost a pound.  Which is better than nothing and certainly better than gaining.  But I still felt disappointed that it was not more.  Even so I’ve still had a pretty good day.  I’ve done really good about not snacking but it seems that I have replaced my snacking with drinking coffee.  Which is better than cookies, I guess.

Still Doing Good

My diet went really well again today.  I have done great with cutting back on my snacking and my portion sizes.  I’m drinking more water too.  The problem I am having is doing some exercise.  Ugh- I just can’t bring myself to get on that stupid treadmill.  I haven’t weighed myself yet.  I’m scared to do it- I keep thinking if I haven’t lost anything I am going to get discouraged and give up.  But for now- I’m doing pretty good.
