Fun Getaway

June 29th, 2009 Melanie Posted in Blogging No Comments »

I am always looking for a fun getaway and when I find something great I want to share it with all of you. I know I have talked before about taking a trip to Branson Missouri. While I have never been there I have visited the websites of two great hotels in the area and it really looks like a great place to visit. There is so much to do there that I’m sure there is something for everyone.

There are two great hotels nearby that you could choose from to stay in. The Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel will be close by the fun.  There are always some great package deals at both of the hotels that will make your trip just perfect.  I always see some great specials on their websites.  I love the romance package- it would be perfect for Rich and I for our anniversary.  We would also want to have time to check out the live entertainment boutiques and the river walk.

If you’re looking for a great getaway this could be it. Be sure to check out the sites to see if this is something that would interest you.

Summer Vacation Plans

June 22nd, 2009 Melanie Posted in Blogging No Comments »

Summer is officially here.  I know that for most people the start of summer was celebrated on Memorial Day.  But as of yesterday summer really is here.  The kids are out of school and people are ready to start taking their vacations.  Or maybe you have already taken your vacation.

We have a couple of things planned for the summer but haven’t decided where we will take our vacation.  And for me, part of the fun is making the plans.  So I am researching and planning.  Today I was looking at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel and considering staying at one of those hotels.  While we have never been to Branson Missouri I have looked at the websites of both of these hotels and they both look very nice.

There is an all new Payne Stewart Golf Club that has amazing scenery and is a tribute course made for honoring the life of Payne Stewart.  Since Rich loves golf I know he would enjoy playing there.  I would enjoy just watching!  And then after a game of golf Rich could join me in the enjoying the theaters and shopping.

I’m not sure yet what we’ll end up doing, but I know I’ll be blogging about it!  What about you- what are your summer plans?

I Want to Go Back!

May 20th, 2009 Melanie Posted in Blogging 1 Comment »

Who knows where my favorite vacation spot is?  If you know me or read my blog then you probably know that it is Disney World.  It’s the place where dreams really do come true.

This picture is from almost 2 years ago- it was in September of 2007.  It feels like it was forever ago and it feels like it just happened.  Hailey was only 11 months old when we went to Disney World.  She loved seeing the characters and had a blast on the rides.  This fall she will be 3 years old.  And I can only imagine how much she would love Disney World at this age. She would be sooooo thrilled to see the princesses!  I ordered my free DVD from Disney World so that I can dream about going back.  I really, really want to go this fall.

If we go, a great place to stay would be in Kissimmee, FL.  Kissimmee is really close to Disney World.  Actually, almost every time we have ever gone we have stayed in Kissimmee.  It’s close to everything- Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, shopping, etc.

Right now you can enter to win a trip to Kissimme, FL for a week long vacation for a family of four or for a weekend getaway for two.  Now I don’t want you to enter because then you lessen my chances of winning.  But if you do decide the enter- the next drawing for a winner will be on June 1st.

Toddler Playroom Decorating Ideas

May 15th, 2009 Melanie Posted in Blogging 3 Comments »

Creating a fun and unique playroom for your young children serves as a wonderful outlet for them to build audiovisual skills and express themselves in a number of different ways. Every child needs a designated space whether it is a corner next to their kids bed or a room off of the living room in order to use their imagination and creativity when drawing or painting, building structures, or dancing to a fun CD. A great way to bring excitement to a toddler’s room is through color, interactive décor, and an organized collection of resources that will help your children have a fun time with friends and family.

Establishing a level of organization in the playroom will benefit both you and your children when it comes time to finding a specific toy or activity as well as cleaning up the space when it’s no longer in use. Investing in a set of foldable, stowaway containers organized by different colors not only provide a splash of color to the room but also are great for storing a collection of toys, games, stuffed animals, and other various accessories your toddler uses on a regular basis. Low-level storage units with lightweight, easy-to-open drawers also provide a great opportunity for toddlers to independently sort through their collection and identify the game they’re looking to play with at any moment.

One of the most popular trends in toddler room décor is the addition of removable wall decals that come in a variety of colors, patterns, and trendy prints. Choose from a number of themes including zoo animals, floral designs, and modern prints to bring a fresh style to your children’s area of the home. Another way to add color to your toddler’s room is with a canvas wall art print that either reflects a monogram design, adorable animal print, or sport related theme. Often times toddlers bedrooms double as a playroom and the decorating aspect can be enhanced by adding a stylish set of bedding for the toddler’s bed. Try tying in the room’s trendy design with a multicolored accent rug for an additional source of color and charm.

More House Hunting

April 3rd, 2009 Melanie Posted in Blogging, Me 8 Comments »

Once again we are going house hunting this weekend.  You probably know that a couple of weeks ago we spent about a week going house hunting.  We found a house that we really liked but could not get the sellers to come down in their price.  So we decided to walk away and keep looking.  I really wanted the house and it was hard to walk away from it, but the price the sellers wanted was not a fair price when considering recent sales in the same neighborhood.  And the fact that the house is still for sale and is holding an open house again this weekend (it’s been for sale since December) confirms to me that the price is too high.  I do have the mention that the area we are looking in is not like much of the country- it is not a buyers market where we are looking.  Houses tend to come up for sale- and if the price is good it sells very quickly because there isn’t a whole lot of choice.

So, we have been watching for houses the last couple of weeks and have a big list of houses we want to see this weekend.  Our real estate agent has appointments set up for us for most of the weekend and we are really praying that we are going to find the right house this weekend.  Our home we are living in now will be closing on May 6th.  Since that is only a  little over a month away I am getting really nervous that we might not find a house in time.  I know the right house is out there for us and we just have to be patient until we find it.

Once we find the perfect house I will need to do all of the fun address change stuff including have to order checks.  I may go with a company like Vista Print where I can order custom checks.  I saw some really cute checks with puppies on them- soooo adorable!

But, first things first!  Pray that we can find the perfect house for us this weekend.

Do I Have Wrinkles?

March 26th, 2009 Melanie Posted in Blogging 1 Comment »

Earlier today I was looking at myself in the mirror (trying to avoid the huge task of packing up my entire house) and I was looking to see if I am starting to get wrinkles.  I could see a few wrinkles by my eyes- I guess these are what are referred to as “crows feet.”  So I went and asked Rich if I have any wrinkles- and of course he told me no.

But I am starting to get older.  The other day as I was looking at one of my friends profiles on Facebook I remember thinking, “Wow.  She is 32?  I never realized she was so much older than me.”  And then suddenly I realized that I am 31.  And it hit me that I am getting old.  And also wrinkled.

System_imageSo I was looking at the Dermajuv Complete Rejuvenation System and wondering if I should try it to get rid of the wrinkles that are starting to form. This system, which has key ingredients of Matrixl, Renovage, and Sesaflash has the science behind it to get rid of wrinkles.  Now I think the system is bit expensive- not something we have money in our budget for right now.  But right now Dermajuv is offering an “Economic Bailout” to your skin.  If you use the promo code “bailout” you can get $5 off your order.

What about you?  Do you have wrinkles?  Do you just let nature take its course?  Or do you try to prevent or get rid of the wrinkles?
