Booples
Do you remember a while ago when I talked about how we do not let Hailey watch any TV except when we’re in the car? Well, things have changed a little bit. We now let her watch one show each day. It’s part of her bedtime routine. She has a snack and watches a DVD on my laptop while she is eating. So, technically we still do not let her watch TV because she is watching a DVD that we will know will be totally appropriate for her.
We make sure that the DVD she is watching doesn’t have anything bad or scary in it and one of us always watches the DVD with her. We like to talk about what we are watching. Right now Hailey is really only interested in watching music and loves to dance along to any music. Since she is in her chair during her snack she has to dance by bobbing up and down- and it’s pretty cute if you ask me.
So the other night we sat down to watch the Booples 2 DVD. In case you’ve never heard of Booples I wanted to share a little bit of information with you. The Booples DVD’s are stories that focus on a lesson straight from the Bible.
The creator of Booples, Bear Cahill has said, “Kids remember and repeat so much of what they hear. Booples was created to give parents an option to have that be songs with actual Bible verses in them! Learn the song and you’ve memorized a verse. It’s the most fun you’ve ever had learning God’s word.”
The Booples! 2 Yikity Blar DVD that we watched runs about 45 minutes long, has five episodes on it and 4 music videos. We watched all 4 of the music videos which Hailey absolutely loved. She danced along and had a blast watching them. We only watched one of the story episodes- “Forgive Each Other” based on Ephesians 4:32 about forgiving others even when you don’t really want to. The episodes are a little above Hailey’s age (almost 18 months) so we are going to stick to the music for now. Which if I didn’t already say it- Hailey absolutely loved the music!
If you’re looking for something for your kids to watch- and you don’t want to worry about anything inappropriate coming up and you’d like it if they could learn some great lessons- you should really check out the Booples! You can watch free clips on their website to see if you think this is something your kids would like. And if you do like it- their DVD’s are very inexpensive. A cute DVD for your kids that teaches Biblical lessons, has fun music and is cheap? What else could you ask for?

I have not heard of that before, but it sounds like a great idea. So….funny story….Easter Sunday in church their was a musical/cantada type thing. Ashlyn kept yelling- “when is Jesus going to die?” Oh my! But, hey, at least she wasn’t asking for the easter buny or something crazy.
Your daughter is SO cute!
